I have always been a fan of buffets because it gives me the comfort of eating whatever I feel like eating. It doesn't constraint me to choose amongst whatever's found on the menu.
For family gatherings, especially on birthdays, we usually go to buffet places like Dad's, Vikings, and Buffet101. We choose it over our family's favorite restaurants because we see the value of money and would be cheaper for big groups of 5 and more. One weekend, I went to San Juan because I got too curious of the buffet place called 7 Flavors. I've already been hearing nice things about it because of their popular chef so thought it would be a good thing to try. Their buffet area is located on the 2F and had quite a number of seats that would probably be able to accomodate around 60-70 pax.
I started as early as I got seated. I left my bag and went straight to the buffet table.
I didn't expect this place to have as much selections as Vikings/Dad's or any other big buffet places but I was quite happy with what they offered. From Japanese, to Mexican, to Filipino, to Chinese - name it, and they have it. The only thing I noticed lacking was Italian food. I'm fond of pasta and pizza (basically anything Italian) so I got quite disappointed to not find anything here.
They had a good variety of salads!!! And I loved the Oriental Salad the most. It was made with greens, shrimp, tomatoes and olives and I chose to drown it in Vinaigrette dressing!!! It was amazing!!!
Their shrimp tempura had a different breading compared to the usual ones you find in Japanese restaurants but it was fresh so I liked it. Pwede na kahit ibang experience with the different breading!!!
I loved the concept of having the Make Your Own Taco corner!!! Of course I had to make mine loaded with lots of cheese without getting guilty about it!!! Hehehe
It was the Soy Tofu and Oriental Chicken that stood out from this set. The buttered veggies and steamed fish fillet tasted normal as this ones has a generic taste ?
Rates:
- 400/person on weekdays - 600/person on weekends If it is your birthday, you just have to bring 5 payees and you get your meal free. Do note that this promo is only valid on the day of your birthday.

Isla Una won my heart in various ways. I'm not sure who owns this place but I was told that the people behind this place happens to work for Magic 89.9 and might've been the same reason why they had the coolest playlist ever! I'm a big fan of music so it's a big plus for me when restaurants have really good playlists.
The place was just small but had 3 floors. The furnitures used were rustic so it sort of makes you feel at home. I love the chairs and the tables especially the ones at the 2nd floor. The al fresco area/rooftop is also something to look forward to. It is a good spot when you want a different view while having lunch/dinner or when having drinks. It is also a good place to stay to see the sunset. Now, the FOOD. We ordered almost all the best sellers because we are not sure as to when we could go back and visit again. It's a no brainer to choose which ones to order because duh, it is Filipino cuisine and we know almost everything already. Their menu is pretty much the same as all the other Filipino restaurants but some of the dishes were modified to be more interesting.
When the food arrived, I got curious and excited. But I was also hesitant to try everything! It looked so tempting and deadly to me!!!
❗️The Lechon Belly was my favorite of all. I loved how crunchy the skin was and how it was prepared. I can barely feel how deadly it was because it wasn't oily at all. It went well with the sauce even if the meat already tasted great. It was well marinated so it was really malasa and went well with Garlic Rice and even Plain Rice.
❗️Prawn Aligue also stood out not only because it was yummy but because it was really sulit. The prawn was also fresh and had a generous amount, hindi daya lang masabi lang na may prawn. It was surprisingly not nakakaumay as well. But I think you still have to take the right serving, else you will end up having high-blood ?
❗️The Sizzling Bulalo also stole the show this night. It was good and I mean, GOOD. The mushroom-herb gravy was too perfect! We were all thinking that it would be good to use the same sauce for pasta dishes. The bulalo meat of this dish was also perfectly cooked. It gave me the "melts in your mouth" experience!!! So so sooo good!
❗️ Isla Una's Kare-kare has the perfect peanut-y taste that I'm looking for in a kare-kare. It went well with the bagoong that's just right - not bland, not too salty, just right. It was flavourful and it went well with plain rice as well as garlic rice that I failed to try!!!
❗️ The Yema Palitaw is definitely my favorite!!! It was a different take on the usual palitaw that we know. It was filled with yema that's really sweet but ended up complimenting the almost bland taste of the palitaw!!! Putting them together was such a smart idea!
Overall, it was a good experience. Everything I included on my blog are all my favorites. We also had Crispy Pata and Bagoong Rice that I did not enjoy as much as I did with the others. It's not as bad but I think it lacked the flavor that I was looking for. The Crispy Pata was also a bit matigas and overpriced. I'm quite not impressed with it. However, I'd still give this place a 4/5 rating because I still love their food, ambience and place itself.
Long overdue post because.... because it took me X years to finally recover from stress and find time to write on my blog. HEH.
I discovered Nikkei via Booky Prime and got instantly hooked when I read that Booky Prime users can avail of the P500 discount when you book your table via the application. Do note thay the P500 discount is not available all day, there are only specific timeslots for this price so you must really check and book ahead of time. I think I booked ours at 9PM on a Saturday because that's the timeslot that had P500 off. I was insanely excited when I read reviews via Looloo because it gave me that jittery feeling!! I am so fond of Japanese food so I have that urge to try anything that's Jap food related, I GET A LITTLE TOO EXCITED WITH THE THOUGHT OF JAP FOOD. Of course, eating out is such an expensive hobby so we gotta use all resources there is to avail of discounts and even more so, freebies. I honestly don't care about spending money on food before but now, it is just hard not to care because well, I have to save and being in love with food doesn't help me. But, thanks to Booky Prime!!! Booky Prime is the greatest innovation to food lovers!! Not only do we get the benefit of being able to reserve tables but we also get discounts on several Booky Prime restaurants. Discounts varies from P100-P500 and sometimes comes with a surprise dessert! Now for the most awaited part, the FOOD!!!
This dish stole the show that night. It was very yummy and sulit because the whole roll was packed with ebi! Hindi tinipid ang feeling! It was alao sulit considering it was just P160!!! I'd probably get this again the next time I go back - this time, 10pcs all to myself! Bwahaha
I remembered liking this dish because of the different textures I got to experience while eating it. The Cilantro salad was also amazingly good, I'm not a cilantro fan but this would do. The Huancaina Risotto was also good but it was too creamy and rich that I ended up getting umay. The tuna, on the other hand, was flavourful and fresh. Putting everything together was an amazing experience bec the flavours were bursting inside my mouth with the play of the different textures.
Though I had a good experience with this dish, I'd still think that it was a little too expensive. If P500 pwede pa siguro, acceptable. But I think P680 is a little too much ?
The Classic Ceviche was made of white fish, red onions, rocoto, cilantro with canchita and glazed sweet potatoes on the side. I am not fond of ceviches, I honestly never thought of ordering it but a friend of mine suggested this dish so I finally went for it. Good thing I listened to her bec I did not regret anything about this dish! It was sooooo damn good! I loved the vinegar used for the ceviche, it was perfectly sour. ? it was sulit, I actually ate 3/4 of the dish and got full after. It was really that good I almost finished it by myself!!
This dish is made of salmon with salad sauce and CRISPY TEA. I loved this dish because of the crispy tea! It gave the salmon a different flavor which made the dish more interesting!!! I'd probably try Kocha with tuna/whitefish as the main next time!!!
Overall, the experience was good and unique. The place is quite pricey but if you know how to choose the right things to order then you'd probably find the place sulit. The ambience is also a plus! It was just small but it was really nice as well (thanks for the very nice lighting! My photos are nicely lit hehe).

POUND by Todd English is the newest burger-joint in town! The people behind it sure knows how to get people's attention by offering the #paywhatyouwant promo during their soft-opening last week! I was in the same area last week and wondered why there were a lot of people lined up, I ignored it anyway. HAHA I thought maybe a famous celebrity dropped by, little did I know that there was a promo going on. Screw me for not figuring out the promo during that time!!
I think I'm just as lucky as the other Booky app users because Booky tied up with Pound to extend the #paywhatyouwant promo for another week!!! Yuup, you read it right, there's an ongoing promo that's about to end tomorrow (Feb19) at 9pm. This is valid for all Booky Prime users!! You just have to show them your Booky application and you're on for the promo.
I've been a big fan of Booky ever since I discovered the app and have been using it to know about the new places in town. Thank you Booky gods!! Thank you for this tie-up with Pound! Hehe.
Promo starts at 6PM during dinner. My friend and I got there around 5:45PM and a lot of people were already asking about how to avail the #paywhatyouwant promo. We were lucky enough to be first in line because the place was just small and could probably just sit less than 30 people and would mean we have to wait for a group to finish before we could get ourselves seated.
The interior reminded me of Adaäm and Yves Organic Restaurant, I wonder if they had the same designers...or owners? haha
The place was really small. We got the spot in front of the kitchen/counter so we could see everything going on from placing the order, to preparing the burger and serving it. I tell you, they're kind of efficient that way! The orders came in after 10-15minutes. Not bad given the place was already full!!
First burger is the Amsterdam Burger (P280). It was a burger with Pastrami, Gruyere, Sauerkraut, Mustard Relish and T.E sauce on homemade Brioche bun.
We chose this one over the T.E burger and Bacon&Egg sliders because we wanted cheese on our burger. The Gruyere drowned to the taste of Mustard relish and T.E sauce, it seemed as if the Gruyere was not there!!! Or I wonder if there really was Gruyere on our burger? Well, if there was none, I'd be really disappointed but the burger still tasted good anyway. It is good and not as bad as the reviews available online but my friend and I would still prefer Charlie's over it.
Second burger we ordered was their most talked about T.E Crispy Chicken Burger (P220). If you read reviews online, this would probably be everyone's favorite. The crispy chicken served with T.E sauce and Cilantro Aioli was a good combination and I understand why people loved it so much but this one's too nakakumay for my liking. The first few bites were good but I don't think I can finish a whole burger alone. The flavors were too strong it made me give up on the burger. And not sure if the deep friend chicken contributed to the umay feeling but well, I ate it anyway and left the bun. It was breast part so sulit talaga ung chicken portion sa burger ?
The experience was okay, nothing too extraordinary to be remembered. I'm not sure if I'd crave for it but if I do, I'd probably crave for the chicken minus the buns. HAHAHAHA. I do hope that the efficiency of their service wouldn't change over time. If there's something about them that I'd love, it would be the efficiency so they should work on maintaining and improving that too.
Our bill was P555.50 but since the experience was ordinary, my friend and I decided to pay P40 for both burgers. YASSS!!! P20 for each burger we ate. Haha not bad given we don't have these kinds of promos often. Why not take advantage of it na, dba?
People nowadays are so into fad diets. The evolution of all sorts of healthy/organic restaurants came in the picture when millenials started seeking for something new, something unusual for the tastebuds. Adaäm & Yves Organic Bistro is one of the newest addition into the world of organics and healthy eating. I've discovered the place via Booky Prime and later on read reviews about it on Looloo. The word organic does not ring a bell on me, to be honest. So I did not get instantly drawn to try the place when I first heard of it. I did not even try to see what kinds of food they serve but well, seeing photos and a snippet of the menu (dishes with very interesting names) made me reconsider trying this place out. The very common ones on people's reviews were the Cabo Quesadilla, Tuna Turner (i love the name!!), Cornelius Vanderbeef, Pink Floyd and Noli Me Tangere. They were all photo-worthy bec of the very commendable plating of the chef!!! The very good plating will bring you to confusion and will test your sense of judgment of the food. Amongst the popular dishes, KD and I only chose 2. We can only go that far bec we're not heavy-eaters. We went to try Cornelius Vanderbeef (P510) and Cabo Quesadilla (P340). The Cornelius Vanderbeef was made with homemade Kitayama wagyu beef, 2 free-range eggs and your choice of either sweet potato mash or hash, in our case we got the sweet potato hash. The play with flavors and texture were just okay!!! The corned beef was too soft and I liked it so much but it wasn't something out of the ordinary good-tasting corned beefs. It was very tasty and would probably go well with a cup of garlic rice rather than a serving of kamote. But don't get me wrong, the dish is still okay and worth trying. If you are not a fan of Kamote then you'd probably not order this. But I tell you, the Kamote on that plate has a special role. The beef was a bit salty but when you eat it with the sweet potato hash, the flavor suddenly changes. The saltiness of the beef and the sweetness of the sweet potato hash compliments each other, it creates the perfect balance of the flavours. Cabo Quesadilla, on the other hand, was something I'd rate as "pwede na". It's not super commendable since there's a lot of things I want them to improve on the dish but I'd still say the dish is worth trying because it's a modified version of the usual quesadilla. Key Points: 1. It was open-faced 2. Tortilla was crunchy and not the usual soft tortilla on most quesadillas 3. It doesn't contain lots of cheese. FUN FACT: I'm a die-hard quesadilla fan. I love it because of the cheese and without the cheese, I get sad and disappointed. 4. The sour cream was too strong. I was thinking maybe there was really enough amt of cheese but since the sour cream was too strong, I didn't taste the cheese at all. 5. It had a generous amount of chicken serving - hindi lugi on that part At the end of the meal, I got myself craving for something sweet. Good thing we booked this place via Booky and the survey that entitles you to a free dessert came just right on time. The server gave us 2 options, that is, Cara Delevigne or Barack Banana (P195/ea). And since I'm a carrotcake lover, we settled to avail of their Cara Delevigne. At this point, my tastebuds were kinda excited and couldn't wait until the dessert was served. Our table got filled with a funky smell when the dessert came. The cheese served with it had a really strong smell and taste; it didn't make the carrot cake experience a memorable one. *cries* The cake also had a weird texture. It made us feel as if we were eating something raw or undercooked 😷
I don't know if my impression is wrong but I also do not know if organic stuff should always taste weird and be expensive at the same time. I just think that Adaäm & Yves was kind of trying too hard to be different that they forgot about the most important factor for a restaurant to stand-out - the taste of the food. I get that they were trying to serve a different kind of organic meal to their clients but I just think it is way too much that the combination of flavors isn't right anymore. But well, I've only tried 3 dishes. I'd still want to give it another chance by trying the Tuna Turner and Noli Me Tangere. If I ever go back, I want it to be during their busiest hours. I've read a fee reviews where they mentioned that the service is really bad in this place. I'd want to say I feel otherwise because our server was a little too efficient, we didn't even have to ask for a water refill. He just knows when to do it. But this judgment might be a little biased too because we were the only ones there when we went so they were managing us quite well. I think I already know why they were having such a hard time managing customers on busy hours but I'd like to observe and justify my assumption first 😜
There's no better way of celebrating someone's existence but by eating good food with a great company!
Last Tuesday, I went to Century Mall with two of my closest friends. We initially planned on having dinner at Nihonbashitei but since I was having a bad day that not even Nihon can fix, we decided to go to Century Mall. Don't get me wrong, Nihon is still one of my favorite Japanese restaurants but my tastebuds are already so used to it, I doubt it would make me feel better. And since it was Bernarf's special day, we had to go somewhere he hasn't tried! He's not very hard to please with food so I'm pretty confident he'll love whatever we feed him. ? We decided to go to Hole in the Wall but changed our minds last minute and decided to go for Le Petite Souffle instead. It is a French-Japanese fusion restaurant, can you imagine how interesting the flavours are?! ? Since this was my second time to visit the place, I was the one mostly suggesting which ones to order. The second time is always sweeter, as they say! My first visit was too memorable and perfect I just had to suggest the 2 dishes we order before. Since I was with two of my closest friends, agreeing on things like these are not so hard. We get along 98.9% of the time so we had no problems finalizing the orders. We got the Squid Ink Rice (P395) and Just Mac and Cheese (P395). Just Mac and Cheese was served first so we digged in immediately. I still love everything about this dish, the cheese, the al dente macaroni, the sausage... AHHHH it was heavenly!!! The Squid Ink Rice was served next. Would you believe it if I say it only took us about 15-20minutes to finish both dishes?! Yep, no kidding. We stuffed ourselves non-stop! And the only words you can here from all of us were "sarap!", "too good", "busog na ako pero ang sarap". The two dishes did not disappoint just like the first time I had it. Since we seldom get the chance to go to Century Mall, we had to grab the chance of eating everything we could that night. So our foodventure did not stop with those 2 dishes. One of our friends who went with us loved curry so much...we had to get her one! So for our third dish, we ordered the Japanese Beef Curry (P525).
The Japanese Beef Curry like the two other dishes did not disappoint us as well. I was already full when it was served because it takes them 20-25mins to make but passing on it was not an option for me. I didn't regret anything after.
The fluffy egg melts on your mouth!!! Undeneath the fluffy egg is the curry rice!!! It was so so so SUPER GOOD! It was very flavourful, authentic curry taste, and has the right level of spicyness that we all loved!!! After dinner, we decided to get the most awaited part of every meal, the dessert!!!! Haha I wonder how I was able to consume that much food that day!!! But well, I still don't regret anything. Haha not even the calories I had to take in!
So this part of the meal was the hardest decision we had to make. Since Bernard was the star of the night and it was his day, we wanted to go with what he wants - Mango Bingsu. Unfortunately, it wasn't something I'd like to eat that day. I was craving for something chocolatey!! So instead of getting Mango Bingsu, we got the Brownie Bingsu (P250)!!
It was so so good and chocolatey!!! It was an instant feel good food that completed the whole meal that night. Bernard liked it too! I think he finished the half of the bowl! Haha we just order regular and shared it among ourselves! I enjoyed the dinner, the dessert and most of all, the company of my very good friends! I also had that sense of fulfillment since both of them enjoyed the food from Le Petite Souffle. I guess my judgment of the place and the food they offer isn't bad after all!!!
I have this long-overdue weird craving for Frazzled Cook even if I haven't tried it myself. I've been across too many reviews about this place, good and bad, and promised myself that 1 day I'll head to North and try it.
Good thing I had this weekend freed up so I took the chance to explore Quezon City, particularly, Timog-Scout Rallos area. Since I've never tried Frazzled Cook and personally do not know anyone who've tried it, I prepared so much I had to read lots of reviews to finally decide and set my mind on what to order. Thanks to Looloo, I was able to narrow down my choices!
(from left to right)
• Cheeselogs (P125) - I got surprised when I was served with mozarella sticks-looking dish. I was expecting for something else. I guess I got too excited by the name and forgot to read the description on the menu. If you were a Paulinian, you'd probably understand why the word "cheeselogs" had a different effect on me. I was expecting a stuffed bread with cheese/cheese and pepperoni with marinara sauce on the side, but NO, this was a different cheeselog!!! Oh well, the dish redeemed itself when I had my first bite. It was not what I expected at first but it was also something more than what I expected after. The cheese was good, it tasted like local cheese, but it went well with the breading and it was served fresh from the pan so it made a wonderful dish. I didn't like the dip though. It was too fresh for me that I didn't like the taste of the salsa anymore. But still sulit!!! I had three leftovers and placed it in the ref...the next day, I decided to eat it for breakfast and it was still in its best form! Not melting in my mouth kinda drama but the taste was still fresh and good! Sarap ilagay sa tinapay, if you want to be creative with what you have. Lol • Truffle Pasta (P295) - This was the most talked about dish on Looloo so I decided to go for it even if it was a very tricky dish! I only believe in the power of Mamou's truffle pasta and have not found anything better than it but still gave this dish a try. It was not as bad as you might think but it lacked something. I guess the amount of sauce? And I guess the kind of pasta used didn't match the kind of sauce so it made it seemed dry. I forgot to ask for parmesan cheese and chili flakes so now I'm wondering whether that would make a diff or not. • Lengua with Mushroom and Corn (P350) - THIS IS MY FAVORITE! 4/5!! The sauce was a bit salty for me but it went well with the mashed potato. All in all, it was a very tasty dish that I'd definitely order when I go back to Frazzled. • Homemade Iced Tea (P85/glass) - Again, another one of the most talked about on Looloo. Everyone kept saying that they have the best Iced Tea but if you really want my honest opinion, then it is not certainly the best homemade iced tea! I'd still get the Libertea Iced Tea of Army Navy over this! IT WAS JUST TOO SWEET. Please note, it didn't even taste like homemade iced tea to me. ?
Even though the food was not highly commendable, the ambiance was. They have really cute designs and furnitures. I can't help but wonder how the place looked like before it got transformed to a restaurant. I kept imagining how each room was filled with different home decors and what each rooms function was!!! It was really cool and pretty!
Overall, I'd like to think that this place is loved by many because they really enjoy the food and ambiance. But personally, I think that this place is a little too overpriced and hyped. I can easily get the food they have from different restaurants that are cheaper and more exciting!
Galli Village Cafe is a Spanish-Filipino fusion restaurant located at the G/F of the YMCA hotel in front of the National Shrine of Sacred Heart Church in San Antonio Village, Makati City. The restaurant is just small. It can sit about 20 people in the dining area and another 20 in the al-fresco. It is definitely an interesting place to go to because the neighborhood is different from the usual Makati restaurants.
I've been a big fan of quiet, chill places so this already gave me a nice 1st impression when I got there. It made me eager to go inside and check the place out. The restaurant was decorated with lots of different photos from different destinations, the furnitures were close to what we have at home (almost antique types), the vibe was very homey!!! I almost didn't feel that I was in a restaurant! There were a lot of interesting things to try on the menu but decided to only try three. We got the Paella Valenciana since this place was said to be the home of the best Paella in the Metro.... There's no way I'll take a pass on this! We also got the Lengua Con Setas and Beef Salpicao.
• Paella Valenciana (good for 5-8 persons): approx P590
I'm a big fan of Paella so this dish made me excited more than anything during that time. I got even more excited when it was finally served on our table! The smell sent shivers down my spine (HEHEHE). I don't know if it was just me though, but I kind of got disappointed with this dish! It might've just been one of those days that the Paella didn't get to please a Paella-lover! The rice for me was a bit overcooked because the texture was a bit different from the Paella I'm used to. The "tutong" part was also missing ? I was desperately looking for the "tutong" part but it really wasn't there! Maybe Galli Cafe really doesn't make their Paellas toasted (maybe I should suggest next time I go? ?) The seafood on the Paella tasted as if it wasn't fresh or maybe it's because the seafood was also overcooked so it changed the texture? I really don't know. But anyway, the taste was not bad! I liked it with lemon and the home-made chorizo sealed the deal for me. It was good and not too salty so it complemented the dish! I'd probably order this dish next time and just request to have ours toasted so I'd be happy with the "tutong" part. Hehe • Lengua Con Setas (good for 2 persons): P240 THIS IS MY FAVORITE AND HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT. #allcapsparaintense I cannot anymore stress how much I loved this dish. The sauce had the buttery, mushroomy taste that I expected out of the dish and it went perfectly with the perfectly cooked lengua. It was indeed a party for my taste buds!!! If I were to rate this dish alone, I'd probably give it a 4/5!!! Really so good but I think the amount of sauce is a bit kulang or tipid. It might be a whole lot better if they add a generous amount of sauce to the dish para "sauce palang ulam na". I would really order this again when I go back!!!! I might get 2 orders... For... Myself!!! Bwahahaha • Beef Salpicao (good for 2 persons): P240 This is another dish that surprised me! It lacked the garlic-y taste that I was looking for or maybe it is because the Beef Salpicao from Galli is cooked differently. Not the way it is usually done on other restaurants and at home. The dish had a generous serving of beef tenderloin so sulit na din naman talaga! The overall experience was good! The food here is really cheap considering that they're offering Spanish cuisine. I've not eaten in any Spanish restaurant that has the same price as Galli's. I mean P240 for the lengua and beef salpicao is not bad AT ALL. Big eaters would probably think that the serving is small, but average eaters would think otherwise. The serving is just right for the price. If you want more, then order 2 plates! Cheap naman so it wouldn't hurt your pockets. Hehehe! ? Urban Eats has the same concept as StrEAT: Maginhawa Park, probably a one-stop kind of place where you can find a variety of food from Filipino to Japanese to Mexican. It was a boring Saturday when my friends and I decided to eat out and explore North. It was also timely that one of my college friends invited me to like Urban Eats PH page on Facebook that I got to know this place existed. The place is not quite known yet since it's still new and haven't been published in social media channels. It is located along Congressional Avenue just beside Box Park. The place is not really hard to find if we decided to take the C5-Katipunan route but we didn't do that and listened to Waze's advice to pass by San Juan-Santolan area. It was mad traffic during the time we went so it took us 3 loooooooong hours to get to the place. We got there a little over 8 pm so just imagine how hungry we were!!! The place was just small, it was packed with lots of small different, one-of-a-kind stalls that offers their specialties. I wanted to try everything since I'm a hundred percent sure that it'll take some time before I go back but wasn't able to because there were just too many things to try!!! I didn't even know where to start. The place was ideal for barkada catch-ups or weekend chill hangouts with family/friends. It was not well-lit though, so it didn't feel lively even though we had a live band performing on the background. It took me a little over 10 minutes to finally decide on which ones to prioritize and try. 1. Beef Misono Wrap (P140) - The wrap was a bit lasang flour, but the Beef Misono itself had a rich flavor. It was really good and tasty! It looks dry on the photo but it really isn’t. Masarap naman nasobrahan lang talaga sa flour yung wrap. 2. Joey’s Barbecue and Grill - I personally loved the barbecue from this place! It was very malasa and the vinegar that came with it complemented it. It wasn’t really fatty so I’d say the value for money is okay. The sausage, on the other hand, did not excite me at all. It seemed too normal for me. I wouldn’t probably get it next time. 3. Farinias Empanada - This empanada, people, is a must try! I would probably go back here to get the empanada again. Yes, I'm willing to travel all the way from the South to the North to have an empanada!!! It was literally so gooood! Well, we already know how good Ilocos Empanadas are but this one's really so good for me. It actually the highlight of my night (next to Babita's Smores dip hehehe). 4. Babita’s Smores’ dip (P145) - MY FAVORITE!!!! This dessert hit the spot again! I super duper love smores (anything smores-related) so when I saw this on Babita's menu, I couldn't say no (even if I was already full from everything I've tried)! The skillet was still hot when it was served so can you imagine how much I enjoyed it??? It was indeed something that made my tastebuds party!!! :D I'd recommend this place to people who loves to eat and has a big appetite! It would be useless to go there if you're only planning on trying one place. You should at least try 3-5 stalls para sulit naman ang pagdrive! HEHE. I hated the fact that this place is not well-lit, there were also a few tables and the place looked so packed. But those are just minor concerns that can be addressed easily. I also hated the fact that there is no available parking. If you want to get a good parking slot, you have to be there early. Or else you'd have to park all the way to the end of the line of cars and end up having to walk for 3-5 mins to get to Urban Eats. There are also nearby establishments where you can park your car. Wildflour Cafe + Bakery has made itself known for their pastries. They were in fact the first one to introduce Manila to cronuts which the people loved so much they always want to get it first. I’ve had a few attempts to try the most coveted cronut, but never had a chance - not a little chance. I went nuts over croNUTS but stopped chasing it anyway until the craze died out. Since the Cronuts broke my heart, I made sure I find something to mend my broken heart (or tummy lol). Wildflour was not only known for their pastries but also known for their food. On one of our (wild) dinners, we ordered Kimchi Fried Rice, Braised Beef Brisket, Poached Egg (P495) and Roast Organic Chicken with Mashed Potato, Bacon Lardon, Organic Carrots and Sauce Coq Au Vin (P620). The combination of the two dishes was indeed a smart choice. The flavors went well together - not too asian, not too organic, just right. I remembered the chicken being perfectly cooked. It was not too dry so you can enjoy it even without the sauce or the Kimchi Rice! It was in itself a wonderful dish but not the best I’ve ever tasted. I’d still say Paul Boulangerie’s Roasted Chicken to be the best. And finally, the most awaited part, D E S S E R T S. I’m never fond of pies nor sweets but thought of giving it a try. They’re known to have good pastries anyway! We ordered their Homemade Apple Pie (P210) and Salted Chocolate Cake(P175). The Apple Pie was really good, the apples were still crunchy and it went very well with the Vanilla Bean ice cream!!! The mixture of the flavors and textures made the whole experience memorable - ang SARAP. And SARAP. The Salted Chocolate Cake was too much for me though. It was good but it’s too sweet for my liking (and heavy). I think I got too overwhelmed with the very chocolate-y experience!!! Well, if you are fond of sweets, then you’d probably love this slice. It is really rich and thick and… MATAMIS. The overall experience was fine. The food was a little pricey but I didn’t leave the place with a sad tummy or sad pocket. In fact, I’d recommend the place for catchups since it offers a different ambiance. It’s chill and very cozy. :) Other things you can try that’s not on photos:
