There's no better way of celebrating someone's existence but by eating good food with a great company!
Last Tuesday, I went to Century Mall with two of my closest friends. We initially planned on having dinner at Nihonbashitei but since I was having a bad day that not even Nihon can fix, we decided to go to Century Mall. Don't get me wrong, Nihon is still one of my favorite Japanese restaurants but my tastebuds are already so used to it, I doubt it would make me feel better. And since it was Bernarf's special day, we had to go somewhere he hasn't tried! He's not very hard to please with food so I'm pretty confident he'll love whatever we feed him. ? We decided to go to Hole in the Wall but changed our minds last minute and decided to go for Le Petite Souffle instead. It is a French-Japanese fusion restaurant, can you imagine how interesting the flavours are?! ? Since this was my second time to visit the place, I was the one mostly suggesting which ones to order. The second time is always sweeter, as they say! My first visit was too memorable and perfect I just had to suggest the 2 dishes we order before. Since I was with two of my closest friends, agreeing on things like these are not so hard. We get along 98.9% of the time so we had no problems finalizing the orders. We got the Squid Ink Rice (P395) and Just Mac and Cheese (P395). Just Mac and Cheese was served first so we digged in immediately. I still love everything about this dish, the cheese, the al dente macaroni, the sausage... AHHHH it was heavenly!!! The Squid Ink Rice was served next. Would you believe it if I say it only took us about 15-20minutes to finish both dishes?! Yep, no kidding. We stuffed ourselves non-stop! And the only words you can here from all of us were "sarap!", "too good", "busog na ako pero ang sarap". The two dishes did not disappoint just like the first time I had it. Since we seldom get the chance to go to Century Mall, we had to grab the chance of eating everything we could that night. So our foodventure did not stop with those 2 dishes. One of our friends who went with us loved curry so much...we had to get her one! So for our third dish, we ordered the Japanese Beef Curry (P525).
The Japanese Beef Curry like the two other dishes did not disappoint us as well. I was already full when it was served because it takes them 20-25mins to make but passing on it was not an option for me. I didn't regret anything after.
The fluffy egg melts on your mouth!!! Undeneath the fluffy egg is the curry rice!!! It was so so so SUPER GOOD! It was very flavourful, authentic curry taste, and has the right level of spicyness that we all loved!!! After dinner, we decided to get the most awaited part of every meal, the dessert!!!! Haha I wonder how I was able to consume that much food that day!!! But well, I still don't regret anything. Haha not even the calories I had to take in!
So this part of the meal was the hardest decision we had to make. Since Bernard was the star of the night and it was his day, we wanted to go with what he wants - Mango Bingsu. Unfortunately, it wasn't something I'd like to eat that day. I was craving for something chocolatey!! So instead of getting Mango Bingsu, we got the Brownie Bingsu (P250)!!
It was so so good and chocolatey!!! It was an instant feel good food that completed the whole meal that night. Bernard liked it too! I think he finished the half of the bowl! Haha we just order regular and shared it among ourselves! I enjoyed the dinner, the dessert and most of all, the company of my very good friends! I also had that sense of fulfillment since both of them enjoyed the food from Le Petite Souffle. I guess my judgment of the place and the food they offer isn't bad after all!!!
